Cancellation of an Appointment
If it is necessary for you to cancel your scheduled appointment we require that you call 24 hours in advance to do so. Appointments are in high demand and your early cancellation will give another person the possibility to access that desired time. Same-day cancellations will be charged 50% of service(s).

No-Show Policy
A "No-Show” is missing a scheduled appointment without contacting our front desk staff to cancel it. All of our service providers come in based on their appointments only. A No-Show inconveniences not only the service provider and those accommodating the appointment but also those individuals who need to get in for an appointment.

A failure to be present at the time of a scheduled appointment will be recorded in the client’s history as a "No-Show”. The client will be charged in full to the credit card on file or will be charged on the client's account and will need to be paid before future appointments are made. Further no-shows will result in having to pre-pay for all future appointments for a probationary period of 6 months.

Color Clients:
Color corrections are done by consultation only. Price will be determined at the time of the consultation.
Patch test: A small percentage of individuals can experience adverse reactions due to the application of hair color products. While rare, symptoms can include burning, redness, itching, and/or swelling. Due to the variety of ingredients used in hair color products, these symptoms may occur even if you have had your hair colored in the past with no reaction. Your colorist can administer a “patch test” to determine if you will experience a reaction to hair coloring. This test must be administered 48 hours prior to your appointment for coloring services. You have the right to request a patch test prior to every service at no additional charge to you. You must request this appointment by calling 360-715-1050. By booking this appointment you have read and understood this policy, that you have been offered a patch test, and that you direct to proceed with your hair coloring service. Booking this appointment also indicates your consent and agreement to indemnify, defend and hold harmless, Fenex Salon and Spas LLC dba Zazen Salon and Spa's owners, employees, agents, and assigns from any liability claim or action arising from the application of hair coloring products.

Massage Clients:
Please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time to fill out the consultation form and waiver, also, to enjoy our spa facilities and change into a robe and sandals (failure to do so will result in the appointment time being shortened).

Infrared Sauna:
Saunas & Medications: Individuals who are using prescription drugs should seek the advice of their personal physician or a pharmacist for possible changes in the drug's effect when the body is exposed to infrared waves or elevated body temperature. Diuretics, barbiturates, and beta-blockers may impair the body’s natural heat loss mechanisms. Anticholinergics such as amitryptiline may inhibit sweating and can predispose individuals to heat rash or to a lesser extent, heatstroke. Some over-the-counter drugs, such as antihistamines, may also cause the body to be more prone to heatstroke.

Saunas & Children or the Elderly. The core body temperature of children rises much faster than adults, and the ability to maintain core body temperature decreases with age. Children under the age of 16 should never use the sauna unsupervised and should use a lower temperature. Elderly clients have decreased sweat gland function and should operate the sauna at a lower temperature, for no more than 15 minutes at a time.

Saunas & Cardiovascular Conditions. Individuals with cardiovascular conditions or problems (hypertension/hypotension), congestive heart failure, impaired coronary circulation, or those who are taking medications that might affect blood pressure should exercise caution when exposed to prolonged heat.

Saunas & Pregnancy. Can you use an infrared sauna while pregnant? NO. Pregnant women should NOT use an infrared sauna in any way, shape, or form for any period of time. Exposing a pregnant woman to extreme heat is not a good idea in any environment. We definitely don’t want to do this on purpose. Extreme heat can cause contractions to start. The increased temperatures can increase the risks for birth defects or fetal damage. A pregnant woman should never use a sauna. This is a major infrared sauna safety concern.

Additional concerns and contraindications to Infrared saunas: Fever, Hemophiliacs, those with insensitivity to heat, clients with reduced ability to sweat or perspire, alcohol abuse, joint injuries, implants, and pacemakers.

Clients with any questions regarding the use of saunas due to a medical condition should direct them to their doctors prior to use.
